On the one hand, it is more energy-saving and more environmentally friendly than traditional mercury lamps, and on the other hand, the service life is extended several times. But at present, there are still many technical problems of UVled curing lamps that have not been solved, and the cost is also a big problem.

Advantages of UVled curing lamp:
(1). Lower energy consumption and high effective luminous efficiency, which can reduce energy consumption by 60%;
(2). No ozone is generated during the curing process, no short-wave ultraviolet light is generated, and there is no need to install auxiliary devices such as deodorization devices or exhaust pipes;
(3). Higher flexibility, UVled light source adopts point light source, which can adjust the irradiation range according to the size of the substrate;
(4). It can be turned on instantly during printing, the work efficiency is greatly improved, and there is no need to warm up and wait;
(5). The calorific value is small, and the surface temperature of the lamp is only between 50℃-60℃, which can effectively prevent the printed product from shrinking and deforming due to overheating;
(6) Long service life, the service life can be as high as 20,000 to 30,000 hours, which can greatly reduce the number of light source replacements.
Disadvantages of UV led curing lamp:
(1). The irradiation intensity is weak. If the printing speed is too fast, it is easy to cause incomplete curing of the ink. ;
(2). Only long-wave ultraviolet light can be emitted, but short-wave ultraviolet light cannot be emitted, which is not conducive to the curing of UV varnish;
(3). The price of LED-UV light source is high;
(4) The irradiation distance is short, and the surface of the substrate must be irradiated at a close distance to ensure the good curing of the ink, and the requirements for UV ink are relatively high.
There are two differences between UVled lamps and mercury lamps:
1. The light emitted by the UV lamp is blue, and the mercury lamp is yellow-white;
2. The UV lamp has a long life, low power consumption, low calorific value, no mercury, and no ozone is generated. It is safer, more environmentally friendly, and has good stability; the mercury lamp has a short life and high power consumption, and the mercury lamp inkjet printing equipment The calorific value is large, and it contains chemical components such as ozone, which is harmful to the human body and has poor stability.
